Reshma Saujani, founder of the non-profit Girls Who Code, got straight to the point. “If I had applied to be the CEO of Girls Who Code, I wouldn’t have gotten the job,” she told Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, on the latest episode of the duchess’ podcast, “Confessions of a Female Founder.” “I didn’t code,” Saujani continued. “I majored in polyscience, speech communications, and the only thing I’d ever built was a failed [congressional] campaign,” she said, referring to when she tried running for Congress and lost. Trading in financial markets feels like dodging a barrage of stones, each demanding constant vigilance and agility. Just as bitcoin (BTC) and traditional risk assets stabilize after last week’s Trump tariff-led panic, unsettling movements in Japanese bonds emerge, throwing a spanner into the mix. The yield on the 30-year Japanese government bonds rose to 2.88% early Tuesday, the highest since 2004, registering a nearly 60 basis point increase in one week, according to data source charting platform TradingView. The yield differential between the 30- and five-year bonds, representing the premium investors demand to hold ultra-long bonds over five-year bonds, has…

In March, the companies started offering the “Waymo on Uber” robotaxi service in Austin, about a month after opening an “interest list” to customers. The companies said on Tuesday the public will be able to hail a robotaxi in Atlanta this summer. For the two…

Google has developed an AI model called DolphinGemma to decipher how dolphins communicate and one day facilitate interspecies communication. The intricate clicks, whistles, and pulses echoing through the underwater world of dolphins have long fascinated scientists. The dream has been to understand and decipher the patterns within their complex vocalisations. Google, collaborating with engineers at the Georgia Institute of Technology and leveraging the field research of the Wild Dolphin Project (WDP), has unveiled DolphinGemma to help realise that goal. Announced around National Dolphin Day, the foundational AI model represents a new tool in the effort to comprehend cetacean communication. Trained…
OpenAI said on Monday that it would soon wind down the availability of GPT-4.5, its largest-ever AI model, via its API. GPT-4.5 was released only in late February. Developers will have access to GPT-4.5 via OpenAI’s API until July 14, after which they’ll have to transition to another model in OpenAI’s catalog, the company says. OpenAI is positioning GPT-4.1, which launched Monday, as the preferred replacement. “[GPT-4.1] offers similar or improved performance than GPT-4.5 in key areas at a much lower cost,” an OpenAI spokesperson told TechCrunch via email. “[W]e will [be] deprecating GPT-4.5 to prioritize building future models.” To…
